Before being a designer, I'm primarily an artist dreaming of one day having her own studio space (not overrun by my daughter). You can see some of my work here. Through my freelancing years, I recognised that my studio was also my tablet & laptop working on elevating small brands with my artistic eye. Combined with me being a Libran, I merged the two things that are me and built my brand around the girl who loves colour and who helps others find their colours. Hence, the brand is The Studio Libran.
Branding is the full expression of your brand story—visually, emotionally and strategically. It’s how your audience recognises you, connects with you and remembers you. From the colours your brand uses, to the tone of voice, to the way your Instagram grid feels — branding builds familiarity and trust over time. Branding is all in the consistent colours, messaging and narrative.
Whether you’re launching or refining your brand - strong branding saves you time, effort and energy in the long run. It streamlines your decisions, simplifies your brand visuals and helps your audience connect authentically and truly with you and the brand, once they recognise it. For that recognisability, branding is important. It is why I encourage my clients to build their branding first, because investing in this first, further leads to growth for the brand in attracting the right clients for the brand.
If I wasn't a designer or an artist, I would have been a Nat Geo Explorer. I may have missed opportunities but for me art won out in the end. I love nature and all it's weirdness. So naturally, I do know tons of weird facts.
Here's one :
It's not well documented, but tigers in India have been seen mimicking their prey luring them into the open. Speaking of mimicking, Lyre birds can mimic any sound they hear, even chainsaws. The animal kingdom is certainly interesting.
